Arranging a Substitute

If you are unable to serve as lector on the date assigned, please arrange for someone to substitute for you — with as much advance notice as possible.

Arranging a substitute is easy. Simply get in touch with one of the other registered lectors and ask him or her to take your place when you must be absent.

Phone numbers and e-mail addresses can be found in the Parish Directory. Copies of the Directory are available in the undercroft of the church or from the Parish Administrator (but not available on the parish web site because of privacy concerns).

Important: Both you and your substitute should notify the head lector of the arrangement so he will know that there has not been a miscommunication beteen you and your substitute.

Last-minute arrangements: If you have a last-minute problem on the morning of your assigned reading, please call the Undercroft and ask anyone who answers to tell either the head lector or Scott Merritt that you will be unable to read at Mass that morning. We will arrange a substitute.
