Sunday Coffee Hour

AFTER the 10 o'clock High Mass each Sunday, coffee and other refreshments are available in the Undercroft. Coffee hour is an opportunity to welcome visitors and new members of the parish, and to reinforce ties of friendship—some new, some going back many years.

Coffee hours are sometimes enriched with talks by parish clergy, visiting dignitaries, and scholars.

Ascension and Saint Agnes parishioners are a diverse group drawn from the neighborhood and from other parts of Washington and its suburbs. We take special delight in seeing visitors from other parts of the world; recent visitors have come from such varied places as Canada, New Zealand, Lebanon, Jordan, the United Kingdom, and Japan.

We are also happy to extend a special welcome to students from area schools and universities.

If you are new to the parish or a casual visitor, we hope you will join us at coffee hour. Any of us will be happy to show you the way.

Coffee Hour Forum

On some Sunday mornings during the latter part of coffee hour, from about 12:00 noon until 12:30, we have a forum in the underoft for learning about the Christian faith and discussing essential aspects of the life of our parish family. Topics vary with the liturgical season and with the changing circumstances of parish life.
